FAQ

AI automation questions for business owners

The questions that come up on nearly every first call, answered as directly as we can — including the ones where the answer is unhelpful to us commercially.

Is our business too small for this?

Size matters far less than repetition. If one person spends a recurring half-day on something a system could do, the arithmetic usually works regardless of headcount. Small companies often see the effect sooner, because the hours being consumed belong to someone whose time is genuinely scarce.

What can AI genuinely not do well yet?

Anything requiring accountability for a judgement call, precise arithmetic without a tool to do it, or knowledge of something that happened after training. It is also poor at tasks with no consistent right answer to check against. We route those to a person by design rather than pretending the limitation does not exist.

How do you handle our confidential data?

Builds run on enterprise API tiers where inputs and outputs are excluded from model training, and each integration is scoped to the minimum data the task requires. Where a process touches regulated or personal records we document exactly what is sent, where it goes, and how long it is retained, before anything is connected.

Will this replace people on our team?

In our experience it removes tasks rather than roles, and the tasks it removes are usually the ones nobody wanted. The realistic outcome is that the same team absorbs more volume without adding headcount. If your goal is specifically to reduce staff, we are probably not the right firm to help you plan that.

How quickly will we see anything working?

A single well-scoped workflow typically reaches production in two to four weeks. The constraint is rarely the build itself — it is getting access to systems, agreeing what should happen in edge cases, and testing against real data. Larger projects are staged so something useful ships early rather than everything landing at the end.

What if we want to change it later ourselves?

That is the intended outcome. Work is built in your accounts on mainstream platforms and handed over with a written runbook, so your own team or another firm can maintain and extend it. Nothing we build requires us to remain involved for it to keep running.

Where to go next

For the commercial mechanics — stages, fixed-price quoting, and what drives cost — see how engagements work. For the technical side of a specific service, start with workflow automation or AI agent development. Definitions of the terms used throughout this site follow the vocabulary in the NIST AI Risk Management Framework.
